MFT for Windows version 0.961 - June 29, 2008 Driver versions: Windows XP 32-bit Windows 2003 32-bit Windows 2003 64-bit Windows Vista 32-bit Windows Vista 64-bit Tested version: This release has been tested with Windows XP and Windows Vista 64-bit only. Other platforms will be field tested over the next several days. It is likely that other platforms work fine, but you should only load this sofeware on non-production systems. Installing into a Volume: In order to create an MFT managed volume, you need to create a partition (this is called a volume in Vista/2008) on a Basic disk. MFT does not support Dynamic Disks. When you create a partition, assign it a drive letter, but leave it's format set to 'RAW'. The partition will be formatted NTFS or FAT32 when the MFT driver is attached and the partition is logically formatted for MFT and mounted. Installation and De-installation: If you install MFT and then de-install it from a partition, please reboot. The driver has issues with starting and stopping. Authorization Codes: You will need an authorization code. These codes are assigned by EasyCo. Both permanent (paid) and demo (free) codes are available. Demo codes operate for 30 days. Authorization codes limit the size of SSD that can be used. Max Size for 32-bit: The MFT drives uses kernel memory to store mapping tables. This is about 0.12% of the drive's logical, mounted, size. Thus for a 30GB partition, MFT will need about 35 MB of page-locked kernel memory. For partitions up to about 250 GB, this is fine with both 32 and 64 bit kernels. If you are building a server with more than 250 GB of SSD storage, you should use a 64 bit OS.
